Our Story

A Church Planted

In August of 2007, while having a conversation with Presbyter Don Cox, Pastor Darrin was asked if he and Christy had considered planting a church. Thinking they’d be perfect for it, Don had been praying for God to send someone to plant a church in the Sykesville/Eldersburg area of Carroll County for ten years. Though numerous mainline / traditional churches exist in Southeast Carroll County, few contemporary / missional churches exist. Pastor Darrin sensed the Lord speaking to him through the words Don spoke and the prayer he prayed. Both confirmation and determination welled up within each of them…and so, the conception of what would later become Life House Church of Sykesville had begun.

Our 1st Birthday

In May of 2009, Life House Church of Sykesville celebrated a full year of ministry that reflected the vision, mission, and core values…Some of the ministries that have been established and are growing: Community Outreach, Greeters / Ushers, Hospitality, Infant / Toddlers, Facilities / Housekeeping, Kids Ministry, Life Groups, Media, Men’s Ministry, Music Ministry, Servefest, Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, etc.
